Course Description
A-1
*Carry and set up the lines and kite
*Determine the wind direction and upwind and downwind (windward, leeward).
*Pilot a small kite (inflatable, stunt kite, foil…) on the wind window edge and maintain it close to the ground.
*Know how to stop the kite power in case of problem by releasing the bar. Be aware that the kite leash must be worn at all times, before kite launching and until landing.

B-1
*Be aware of the area where the kite can fall down wind to the pilot.
*Recover the kite on land.
*Position the kite on request from 9 to 3 o’clock on the wind window edge.
*Launch a kite with an assistant and choose the right angle to the wind.
*Pilot the kite in the power area without crashing it.
*Twist and untwist the lines while the kite flies.
*Recover a kite and secure it on land.
*Land a kite with the help of an assistant.

C-1
*Pilot a kite hooked to the harness.
*Pilot hooked to the harness with one hand.
*Activate the harness release system or quick release located on a leader line.

D-1
*Perform a downwind course by body dragging and using the power of the kite.

E-1
*Relaunch a kite from the water.
*Wind the lines in the water and recover the kite.
*Perform a self-rescue in deep water.
*Launch a kite alone on land.
*Identify potential wind obstacles creating lift or down draft and be able to define the wind direction. Understand that practice with onshore wind is dangerous.

With KiteboardingUK one day course you will also get the chance to kiteboard for the first time, Using a directional or twin tip you will take your first water starts and hopefully your first ride. At the end of the course you will be a Kiteboarder level 1

Welcome to Lowestoftwatersports! Our shop is situated about 50m from Lowestoft main beach, and as well as our shop we have a warehouse facility, a Kite and Stand up Paddleboarding school and Kayak rental. As we are situated in Suffolk, we are blessed with the beautiful Broads and Rivers also, meaning we are never far from the water!

You will find all Watersports equipment on this site including, Kiteboarding, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Surfing, Kayaking, Wake Boarding, Body Boarding, Skimboarding, Snowkiting, Longboarding, Snorkelling, Mountainboarding, Kite Buggying, just to mention a few. And of course we also supply all the extras you need such as wetsuits, Life Jackets, Paddles, Leashes, Helmets and safety gear, instructional DVDS and books, Board bags, POV cameras and lots more! As well as sports we also supply Tenders and Dighies for use with your boats and specialise in Fishing Kayaks and Fishing Stand Up Paddleboards. We also offer tuition for Kiteboarding, Landboarding, Kite Buggying and Stand Up Paddleboards.

Lowestoft Watersports has 3 Waveney District Council approved Kite/Sup Zones for kiteboarding/ stand up paddleboarding, landboarding and kite buggy use. They are Lowestoft main beach off season only, Pakefield beach and Kessingland main beach. These are approved Kite Zones where we teach our students to kite fly and kiteboard. We also have beach access for our rescue equipment and permission to use our vehicles on the beach. Lowestoft, East Anglia is the most easterly point of the UK and therefore we can take advantage of regular strong winds from many wind directions. In the summer, Lowestoft has reliable summer sea breezes, only a few locations in the UK have wind in the middle of summer. Making near perfect conditions for our Kite School.
