Spike 2012 Overview

The new North Spike is the ultimate light wind twin tip that will get you out on the water in 6-8 knots!

The North Spike is a light wind twin tip that takes advantage of a large, maximized planing surface to get you up and going when other twin tips can't even get off the beach!

Unmatched upwind ability and aggressive heel grip allows you to get going in the super light stuff, yet still maintain your edge as the wind picks up.

The optimized flex and quick, lively feel still allow you to throw some big jumps and freestyle tricks despite being much larger than other freestyle twin tips. The Spike can also be used as an entry-level twin tip due to its large size and user-friendly nature.

Get the technical advantage of optimized flex, lively response and large, flat planing surfaces at the center and heelside to maximize your fun when your friends are sitting on the beach waiting for wind.

Unrivaled upwind performance and loads of heel grip will have you blasting around in wind speeds you never thought possible! Because of its size, the Spike can also double as an entry level twin-tip.

Great upwind and early planing abilities make this a very attractive freeride board. With the addition of a 163cm, there is a North Spike board to suit nearly every size of rider out there!

North Kiteboarding Track System:

Kiteboarding is evolving at an amazing pace. As a result of this development, the demands on the material are increasing as well.

Due to new tricks and an increased variety of people who engage in the sport, it has become more and more important that the entire equipment can be individually adjusted.

For this reason North have set out to develop a multifunctional mounting system for their boards. What North envisaged was a solution that would allow a wide range of adjustments as well as quick and easy mounting of the footpads without having a negative influence on the board's flex and weight.

The result of this effort is a system that meets all our requirements. North proudly present the new THE TRACK SYSTEM!

The Track System features two ultrasonic welded tracks made of fibreglass reinforced plastic that are laminated into their boards in the production process. The tracks are then CNC milled out of the finished board.

The Track Nuts provide the connection with the footpad. The Track Nuts are made of non-corrosive brass and can be freely moved along the track to both sides. This system offers a whole range of possibilities to mount your footpads. One particular advantage is that the flexible tracks do not interfere with the finely-tuned flex of North boards.

It is a cruisy twin-tip with plenty of comfort for every-day riding!

Unique design features such as rounded rails, soft flex and special carving fins makes the North Spike a great board for getting up and riding as soon as possible!

The control is further enhanced by a wood sandwich construction and soft flex characterisitcs.

Small swept fins give you endless grip and very little drag to rip high speed carves in flat water and waves and even helps you load up for jumps.

The soft flex and good absorption allow you to ride effortlessly while the new carving fins give you outstanding grip and acceleration allowing for jumps, turns and riding through waves.

A great freeriding board, even in the lightest wind conditions, the North Spike 2012 makes riding easier and lets you focus on just getting out and riding!
